Many children today struggle with reading or lack access to books. That’s why APLC is thrilled to partner with Ballentine Elementary School for ‘Grow and GLOW’, a literacy and family program launching at the church on Wednesday nights from 5:00-6:30, starting February 5, 2025 at 4:30. The program will include a meal, tutoring for 12 students, parental support, and building home libraries for the children. No teaching experience is needed—just a servant’s heart!
Along with the tutoring and books the kids will receive, we also serve a meal to the children and their families. Any food left at the end of the night will be divided and sent home with the children. We are in need of some items to help with the meals. Paper plates and bowls, napkins, cups, tin foil, plastic wrap, silverware, etc.
There will be a box in the Narthex for donations of these items. Anything you could donate will be helpful.
